Activity Overview

The camp runs from Friday 11th September 18:00 until 15:30 Sunday 13th September and will be held at Walkabout Wildlife Sanctuary. At the Sanctuary Cubs will:

• Have ranger-led tours of animals
• Learn about plants in the bush and medicinal uses.
• Camp in the santuary
• Experience a night tour of the animals
• Learn to throw a boomerang
• Make ochre and have faces painted
• Have a campfire

Who can come

Cubs, and a small number of scouts and vennies to support.

Itinerary

1800 Friday 11th Sep	Meet at Abbotsford Scout Hall
1815 Friday 11th Sep	Car Pool departs, dinner on-route
2000 Friday 11th Sep	Arrive at Sanctuary
2030 Friday 11th Sep	Briefing and tent Set-up
Saturday 12th Sep	Ochre, face painting, bommerang throwing, Bush medicine and food, sanctuary tour with ranger, Night tour, campfire
Sunday 13th Sep	Pack-up, Final tour of reserve, Lunch
1530 Sunday 13th Sep	Car pool arrive at Abbotsford Scout Hall

Travel Arrangements

• Car pool from hall Friday 1800
• Depending on numbers of Cubs we may need additional support for transporting cubs to/from

Supervision

• This activity will be conducted under direct adult supervision. Both male and female leaders will be present.

• This camp requires minimum numbers to proceed so please RSVP as early as possible

• Refunds/cancellations after 2 September may not be possible due to costs incured with venue.
