Frequently Asked Questions for Returning Members
When does the Trek 2026 rollover begin?
The rollover process begins around 7 April 2026. This is when Scouts NSW removes all Trek 2025 membership records and prepares the system for the new registration cycle.
How will I receive my new registration link?
After records are cleared, new registration links are created and distributed by Scouts NSW.
These links are emailed only to the Primary Carer email address on file.
Please ensure your email details are updated before the Easter weekend, in case the system goes offline earlier than expected.
Tip: for easier co-parenting creating a joint or shared email address can help a lot!
What happens to my child’s membership during rollover?
Your child will not have an active 2026 membership until you complete re‑registration.
This means you cannot complete or approve Term 2 activity permission forms until the new Trek 2026 membership is processed.
What if I don’t re-register by the deadline?
Scouts NSW has advised that any member not re‑registered by 24 April 2026 will be considered resigned.
The new registration form will also include mandatory medical questionnaires, as Operoo has been retired as the events management system. This will reduce the number of questions you have to complete for each event.
How much are the Trek fees in 2026?
Scout NSW fee: $300
New joining fee (once off new scouts only): $60
2nd Abbotsford Group fee: $400
What do the fees cover?
Fees go towards insurance, property, utilities, equipment and all the overhead required to run the group. Fundraising by each group supplements these funds and all activities are run on a cost recovery basis. All Leaders and the vast majority of adults in Scouting are all volunteers.
How long does Trek 2026 run, and how are fees billed?
Trek 2026 covers April 2026 to March 2027 (12 months).
Fees can be paid:
- Upfront, or
- In six equal monthly instalments using a credit card.
If paying by credit card, please ensure:
- Your card is valid for the full six‑month period and does not expire during the payment plan period
- Any card updates must be completed directly through Scouts NSW, not through the 2nd Abbotsford Group
Is financial assistance available?
Yes. The Family Support Fund provides fee subsidies for youth members experiencing financial hardship.
Information about eligibility is available on the Scouts NSW website.
The application form will be shared with members before registrations open.
Can we still use Active or Creative Kids vouchers?
Yes. Scouts NSW remains an approved provider.
Important: You must redeem the voucher before making any registration payment.
Payments cannot be refunded afterward due to scheme rules.
