Activity fees are set to cover the actual costs of the events. Any extra funds collected will go towards supporting our group's overall sailing program expenses.
Brief activity overview: Spring/Summer/Autumn season of Saturday sailing with the Abbotsford 12ft Sailing Club for Cubs/Scouts/Venturers using Scout owned boats competing in the Open fleet racing.
Scouts sailing private or sailing club boats in learn to sail, green fleet, opens or skiff fleets should also sign this waiver for the purposes of insurance however they are not required to pay the scout sailors fee. Please select "Saturday Sailor - Private Boat" at checkout.

Saturday Sailing - Open Fleet
This registration covers the entire 26/27 season of Saturday sailing with the Abbotsford 12ft Sailing Club for Cubs/Scouts/Venturers using Scout owned boats. This registration covers all activities surrounding Saturday sailing with the exception of the race itself which is covered by Sailing Australia's insurances via a fully paid sailing club membership.
At the beginning of the season each scout will be assigned a boat and a position, either skipper or crew, this will be set for the season with a goal to develop all sailors into a skippering position. Scouts are responsible for taking care of their boats each Saturday and providing basic maintenance. Sailors are also encouraged to assist leaders and parent helpers with major maintenance tasks on their boats that may arise over the season. Unfortunatley due to events in previous seasons if sailors carelessly damage or mistreat boats causing them to require major repairs the cost will be passed onto the parents/familys.
Parents/familys of sailors are required to commit to a minimum of 4 Saturdays (2 before the Christmas break and 2 after) over a season helping leaders with the running of the day. This will include helping organize lunch, launching/retrieving boats, working in the sailing club canteen, starting/finishing races and assisting in safety boats. While 4 Saturdays are the minimum commitment we would encourage parents to attend as often as possible, particularly just for the fun of hooning around in safety boats enjoying Saturdays on the water with the kids.

The total cost of sailing per season is $350 which is broken up into:
$200 Scout sailing (payment attached to this event waiver)
