Brief activity overview: Spring/Summer/Autumn season of Saturday sailing with the Abbotsford 12ft Sailing Club for Cubs/Scouts/Venturers using Scout owned boats competing in the Open fleet racing.

PLEASE READ BELOW IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL SAILING SEASON INFORMATION AND FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY.

Saturday Sailing - Open Fleet

This registration covers only the 2026 Winter Saturday sailing with the Abbotsford 12ft Sailing Club for Cubs/Scouts/Venturers using Scout owned boats. This registration covers all activities surrounding Saturday sailing with the exception of the race itself which is covered by Sailing Australia's insurances via a fully paid sailing club membership.

At the beginning of the season each scout will be assigned a boat and a position, either skipper or crew, this will be set for the season with a goal to develop all sailors into a skippering position. Scouts are responsible for taking care of their boats each Saturday and providing basic maintenance. Sailors are also encouraged to assist leaders and parent helpers with major maintenance tasks on their boats that may arise over the season.

Parents of sailors are required to commit to a minimum of 1 Saturday over the season helping leaders with the running of the day. This will include helping organize lunch, launching/retrieving boats and assisting leaders in safety boats. While 1 Saturday is the minimum commitment we would encourage parents to attend as often as possible, particularly just for the fun of hooning around in safety boats enjoying Saturdays on the water with the kids.
